External wall insulation

External wall insulation (a thermal façade) means fitting thermal insulation to the outside of all the vertical external walls of the building.

Insulation boards fixed with anchors around a window

The insulation is protected by successive layers of specialist materials, so that it resists weather, mechanical stress, wind pressure, strong impacts and anything else that could affect its performance over time.

Choosing the right system depends on the building's existing insulation (for an old building) or on the energy study (for a new building), together with the climate zone it is in, its use and the structural elements it is made of.

What external wall insulation with ΜΕΛΙΣ-ΚΑΤ ensures

  • A striking insulation result
  • Saves usable space
  • Architectural freedom
  • Durability
  • A 45-60% reduction in heating or cooling consumption, because it increases the thermal mass of the interior and keeps the temperature stable for longer
  • Eliminates thermal bridges (points where the insulating material is interrupted) where beams and columns meet the masonry
  • Protects walls from damp, because no conditions for water vapour to condense inside the building or the wall are created, and waterproofs them at the same time
  • Improves the look of the building's external walls

An investment that adds value

The external wall insulation system we propose offers high breathability and elasticity, as well as strong resistance to dirt, mould and micro-organisms. The finished surfaces are “self-cleaning”.

The construction cost pays for itself in about five years.
